Financially literate NGO staff
can make an even bigger difference. When running a programme on nutrition, they can include food budgeting, ensuring that families will prioritise their expenses and keep enough for food. When they identify that gender-based violence often starts with an argument about money, they can add workshops on communication about money. When they visit financially vulnerable families, they can help them do a budget. They can help prevent over-indebtedness and family crises.

Financial Education Certification:
To do so, NGO staff needs skills, knowledge and confidence. Often, they do not manage their own money and have limited or no experience in setting up or running a business (even if they run programmes promoting entrepreneurship). This is where our Financial Education Certification programme can help. We maximise the learning experience by using mix of support (online, face to face…).

Our Financial Education Certification programme consists of four parts. It is very practical.
Get involved
We work with grassroots organisations who are close to the people they work with: they know the issues they face, they can see them often, they speak the same language, and share the same culture. They can localise our training resources. But they have very limited budgets, and limited networks and access to funding. Help them cover the costs of printing reusable training materials, renting training rooms or offering healthy food at the end of a workshop.
