Finally a face-to-face training, and on an urgent topic: microbusinesses have been hit hard by the pandemic! For two days, we trained Enfants du Mekong’s volunteers who are ready to go to Asia as soon as borders are open. The training of trainers took place in Enfants du Mekong’s headquarters in Asnières, near Paris. Enfants du Mekong is piloting a project to help parents who run or want to start a micro-business. To increase the financial sustainability of their businesses, parents will be trained on business basics (bookkeeping, profit calculation, cash flow forecast and management, family budget).
Volunteers put themselves in the shoes of Filipino, Thai or Cambodian parents: they set up their business, practised bookkeeping and family budget. They also designed a training example (with cards, of course!) relevant to the families they will be training.
