On March 26 and April 8, PHARE Performing Social Entreprise in Siem Reap (Cambodia) hosted the first part of our basic Money Management programme for adults. The workshop was facilitated by Saorn, from VBNK, our Cambodian partner and funded by ANZ Royal. It was also attended by some staff from Salabai, who has included financial education in its curriculum since 2008, using a+b=3’s programme for students.
Through hands-on activities, participants realised the consequences (and costs) of not managing money, what happens when we overspend, some basics on debt, practised writing a budget, calculated how much to save for a specific goal, where to save and how to spend wisely.
