Financial and Business Literacy TOT – GIZ Laos Pakse – day 1

First day of a five day Training of Trainers in Pakse, Laos, organised by GIZ-AFP, sponsored by Bank of the Lao-PDR, GIZ-AFP and Australian Aid and co-facilitated with our Laos partners EDC. After a brief inaugural speech by the Bank of Lao-PDR, this first day introduced financial education, the importance of needs assessment and building programmes aiming to solve clients’ main problems. Then in the afternoon, we moved to the “village” section of our nice training room and participants experienced a basic training with a story, making the difference between personal and business expenses, practising prioritising expenses and saving for a yearly expenses. We also explained the difference between earning and borrowing money using a simple water bottle and thread.
