Friends-International invited a+b=3 to a two day training and brainstorming workshop to help their team include small business financial management to their self-employment programme.
The workshop took place in F3 (Friends Futures Factory) where their vocational training centre and social enterprises are located. On the first day, we ran our “starting a new business” programme including our small shop game, finding customers and defining products or services according to potential customers, setting prices and calculating whether a business idea may be profitable. These concepts are all taught in a simple and practical way to make it accessible to the target groups that Friends-International work with.
In the second day, we ran our “managing a business” programme which includes bookkeeping and managing cashflows. Both days included brainstorming time to adapt the programme outline to Friends-International’s specific needs. Next steps: fine-tune the programme adaptation and roll it out!
