Following our training the trainers in Cebu last November, Children of Asia, Philippines, has run a pilot livelihood programme with 12 women who run their own micro-business. The programme alternated training workshops on a specific topic like developing a savings plan, using envelopes, paying back debts, and bookkeeping for their small businesses, with one-to-one coaching sessions to help them implement what they had learned. The programme also includes meetings where participants share their good practices and challenges, and encourage one another.
The feedback from the 12 participants has been very positive so far. The programme is set for 6 months.
